I didn’t get the chance to meet Kirsten and Brayden before their wedding, but I can’t imagine a warmer welcome - these two make up one of the kindest, sweetest couples I’ve had the chance to photograph. They fell in love as teenagers after meeting in their local youth group and haven’t looked back since!
I made the drive to Pictou County on Saturday to photograph their beautiful wedding day, hosted at Parker’s Barn. Their day was filled with emotional and sentimental touches; from the father-daughter first look at Allan Park, to a ring box made from a tree that was planted when Kirsten was born. One of my favorite parts of the day was during their ceremony, they asked the people in their lives who they considered their spiritual leaders to pray over them as they entered a new life together - there were many tears in the crowd (me included!), and I thought it such a beautiful way to pay homage to those who helped them grow together.
Here are some previews from their special day - congratulations Kirsten & Brayden!

Today’s post is a big one… but I can’t help myself! If you caught my sneak peek post from this wedding, you’ll know that I am totally obsessed with this day. Ausha and Gregg flew me out to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to join them for a week while they tied the knot in the best way; under the sun, by the beach, surrounded by family and friends. My wedding season started off back in April with the sweetest elopement right on the waterfront in Halifax, Nova Scotia. When Tanya and Corey contacted me only a few months before to shoot their small wedding, I couldn’t say no - I’m a sucker for an intimate ceremony. They braved the rain to have the ceremony they dreamed of by the harbour, followed by a few photos inside their favourite restaurant, CUT Steakhouse, and reconvened the following week for some nighttime photos on the boardwalk in clearer weather. Danielle Grasley is one of my favourite double threat (hair AND makeup) artists here in Nova Scotia. You’ve probably seen her mentioned on my Instagram or in previous posts - we’ve worked together a lot! When she asked me to come on board for a shoot to showcase her new associates, I couldn’t say no. Here’s a little bit of the magic we captured during our quick morning shoot in downtown Halifax.

It’s a rainy day here in Halifax, so I want to brighten things up by sharing this warm and sunny wedding from the summer! Kristy and Ryan had their wedding at the lovely Beavercreek Winery, a rustic venue in Lawrencetown with over 21 different kinds of wine. I love the thoughtful details in their day, like the chandelier in the ceremony platform, and the thoughtful bouquet charms for loved ones who were there in spirit. They also had a special ceremony guest (one of my favorite parts of shooting here… the adorable animal photobombs). Scroll through to see more from Kristy and Ryan’s beautiful celebration!

Chelsey and Ron tied the knot during a sweet ceremony by the ocean, surrounded by simple greenery, at one of my top five locations - St. Mary’s Boat Club. I absolutely adored their navy blue and gold color scheme, complemented by Ron’s suit (check out his amazing tie!). They had the CUTEST wedding favors too - they met on Tinder and gave out matchbooks embossed with “it’s a match”! These lovebirds were so filled with love and emotion the whole day, and I feel honored that they chose me to capture it.

Mandy and Stephen had such a sweet and sunny September wedding with beautiful Long Lake as their backdrop! These two kept it traditional, forgoing the idea of a first look and saving it for Mandy’s walk down the aisle. You could really feel the love from their families on their special day; the kids were involved in the wedding and the reception was filled with loving family members (and some teary-eyed speeches). Keep reading to see more from their elegant ceremony and reception!
