Okay guys, It took me a little while to get this one together and that’s because it’s truly one of my all time favourites. Ryan & Celina said their vows at the at the incredible oceanside venue Harbour Mist in Chester, Nova Scotia in August 2021 and every single detail was incredible; the location alone offered a quintessential Nova Scotia backdrop and gorgeous rooms for all of the bridal prep (check out the dress photo below!), and the spectacular team of vendors they chose really brought this wedding to life (listed below). Narrowing these photos down to the ones in this post was a tough task and there’s so much more I would have loved to share, but it’s going to be a long one already!
Starting with the bridal details, Celina wore vintage gold Tiffany’s jewelry from her mother and had the children in the family collect seashells from nearby to include in her flat lays (and for “something blue”). The bridal party’s makeup was done by the talented Danielle Grasley Makeup, who gave them all the perfect summer glow! Together, Celina & Ryan designed the invitations and other stationary themselves, which included an illustration of the venue and a map for their guests. Prop’s Floral provided the bouquet and other florals which adorned the ceremony arch, aisle, and tables. Celina’s breathtaking gown is from Tatum’s Fashion and Bridal in Windsor, NS, and had not one but TWO distinct looks with removable sleeves - the detail on this dress is TO DIE FOR.
Ryan’s wedding look was also very stylish, I especially loved his shoes and that the boys opted to forego their ties for a more casual look. For the reception, both C&R took a small break to swap into their second outfit, which we captured at sunset while popping champagne (scroll to the end for that!).
Their ceremony by the water was short and sweet, with readings from loved ones, ending with sealing love letters into a memory box that they will open a few years from now. After Celina and Ryan said “I do”, we walked around the property for some portraits - the options were endless and I could have photographed these two all day.
The reception was held on the opposite side of the property under Kohko’s Events Nordic tipi tents, with rentals from MacFarland’s, One Day Affair, MacKay Weddings and Events and Glow The Event Store. The couple had a custom neon sign made for a photo booth and signature drinks: Aperol Spritz and Bourbon Lemonade (I still think about that bourbon lemonade sometimes, honestly). I loved the plein-air vibe of the reception, and watching the sun start to set while Ryan and Celina had their first dance was like a scene from a movie. With no assigned seating, guests were free to mingle and enjoy their barbecue - catered by Asado - play lawn games, and hop between tables to visit with each other.
After a few heartfelt speeches and first dances, we snuck off to spend the our last few minutes of coverage with a private glass of champagne under the setting sun. Leaving this wedding, my heart was so full - dream day, dream clients, dream photos. Grateful to C&R for including me for such a momentous occasion, and now I am happy to share some of my favourite parts with you!
