While I’m gearing up for a new season of love (my first wedding is at the end of this month!), I can’t help but reflect on some of last year’s incredible celebrations. Mikayla and Adri's seaside elopement was an absolute favorite that perfectly showcased the sheer beauty of a Nova Scotian backdrop.
A&M’s Halifax elopement started off with a religious ceremony at the Alrasoul Islamic Society, with members of the local community to witness. As the day unfolded, our schedule got a little whimsical, and we found ourselves on a race against time to catch that dreamy, golden sunset at Polly's Cove. Much to our surprise, we left the sun behind in Halifax and were greeted with dense fog and cloud cover everywhere! Thinking on our feet, we abandoned Polly’s and headed straight to Peggy’s Cove, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision. Peggy always shines, sunset or not, and Mikayla and Adri's wedding photos? They look like they were plucked straight from a Nova Scotia postcard.
Something I love about elopements is how intentional and personal they can be; Adri and Mikayla knew they wanted to exchange their vows privately, by the ocean. After popping champagne, exchanging rings and capturing some portraits at Peggy’s, we found a private spot and climbed the rocks so that they could read their vows together in the last light of the day. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to say “I do”.
